My 2014 Questions 26-40

MY 2014

26.What experience would you love to do all over again?
Before my uncle’s funeral, I got to hang out with my uncles and aunts and parents. It was both interesting and oddly uncomfortable.

27.What was the best gift you received?
I got a camera for graduation, and then my parents got me a 40 mm lens for Christmas. I am in love with my new lens. I want to keep learning about my camera and get better at using it.

28.How did your overall outlook on life evolve?
I learned some things about life this year. It goes on. It happens. Some cliches started to make sense to me, but my overall outlook on life has been developing since my junior year, and I think I have been right so far. I also don’t know if one can actually call my mess of theories an outlook. They are more like affirmations.

29.What was the biggest problem you solved?
I got a job. That solved my joblessness.

30.What was the funniest moment of your year, one that still makes it hard not to burst out laughing when you think about it?
I am awful at this reminiscing thing. My laugh is full of lifeter. I mean laughter… But I cannot think of a single moment right now. Awful.

31.What purchase turned out to be the best decision ever?
The best decision ever? I don’t think I am at the point right now with my purchases. Mostly I bought T-shirts and flannels. They are pretty cool.

32.What one thing would you do differently and why?
Nothing. Next question.

33.What do you deserve a pat on the back for?
John says, “You knitted me a tie, so pat on the back to you.”

34.What activities made you lose track of time?
Probably knitting. Work. Browsing Pinterest can make a girl lose a whole day.

35.What did you think about more than anything else?
Unfortunately, I think about my students loans and when my next pay day is more than anything else. After that, I imagine having a different job in a new town.

36.What topics did you most enjoy learning about?
I enjoy learning about the products at my store. I find it interesting, informative, and helpful to my job. I like to know how the companies came to be and what their goals are.

37.What new habits did you cultivate?
I think going to the gym is a habit now. I’m not always consistent about it, but I definitely go regularly. I’m not sure if that is a habit, but I’m including it. I have a few habits I wish I didn’t cultivate. I won’t discuss those though. Twirling my eyebrows is just weird.

38.What advice would you give your early-2014 self if you could?
Try a little harder in the first year computer science class. You could have easily aced that course.

39.Did any parts of your self or your life do a complete 180 this year?
I never had a hangover before 2014. I still have not thrown up due to alcohol, but now I have at least been uncomfortable the next day. Overall, my relationship with alcohol has greatly changed in the last year.

40.What or who had the biggest positive impact on your life this year?
My friends have meant the most and made the biggest positive impact. My roommates at school were encouraging and thoughtful. We were very supportive and worried about each other. Then when I got home my close friends were the same way. They continue to be my lifelines. They always make me feel better. I can’t express in words how important they were to me this year. I hope it stays this way for a long time.
