More from 2025

New Photography from 2025 Work

Finding time to paint can be difficult. I have house projects that are half finished and laundry and dishes to keep up with. Our bathroom needs a deep clean. Everytime I am in there I try to wipe something down so I won’t have to do it all at once. There are dog hair dust bunnies in several corners of the house. Even so, here I am documenting more of the art I created.

My mom and I did three shows in 2025 and by the end of the year, I didn’t have much of an inventory. Someone bought all three Succulents shown below and another customer bought all three Fawn paintings. I wasn’t even sure that I liked them or that they were truly finished, but someone loved them all and didn’t want to separate them.

I am still experimenting a lot with techniques and styles. I am trying to embrace more expression and fun. I used to try to want to make everything hyperrealistic, but now, I want to be quick, colorful, and fun. I still love and admire artists that can create a photo-like piece, but it has been exciting to see bold brush strokes turn into shapes and scenes. “Sunrise Over El Capitan” felt like a mini breakthrough. It is based on a viewopint in Yosemite National Park called “Tunnel View.” There are a million photos of it, including several I myself have taken. When I visitied in 2021, it was around mid-morning, and the light was very bright and white. I wanted bolder colors in the painting so I reworked the palette and made it sunrise. That’s when I started to have fun and enjoy the process. “Sunrise Over El Capitan” is still available for purchase!

I am launching a people’s choice for my 2025 pieces that is live on my website now. Please consider voting and letting me know which is your favorite!
