I was almost two hours into my drive back to school, almost to Williamsport, when I thought to myself, “I don’t remember putting my laptop bag in my trunk!” So I called my sister Sara, but my sister Hope answered. She said she’d go check for the bag in the dining room. The call goes silent, and I see that she must have hung up. I sit there waiting for a minute before Hope calls back and tells me my laptop bag is home. Sara gets on and asks me where I am because Dad said he’d meet me half way. I really didn’t want to turn around so I told them it would be okay. This gives me a reason to spend the money on gas to go see my brothers play next weekend!
I got to Williamsport and had to fuel up and use the restroom. I decide to go to the bathroom first so I wait in line, finish, get back to my car and can’t find my key. I left it in the bathroom. I walked back into the store and got my key. A guy tried to make small talk with me. He was nice, but my mind was muddled enough. I’m so awkward as it is. I definitely thought of things I could’ve said. Hindsight. I fueled up and waited for a receipt to print that never did.
Two hours later I miss an exit in the dark. I didn’t get lost, just had to pick an exit and follow the signs back to the right place. This set me back about fifteen minutes. Long enough for me to not make it back in time for The Walking Dead season finale. I got back, ate, unloaded my car, unpacked all of my things, and picked out clothes for today. Luckily, Walking Dead has a replay an hour after the original.
Go without my laptop for a couple of weeks?
Challenge Accepted.
But I may need my phone charger sent to me.
What a night!
