Movies: WWZ and MOS

“I’m sitting under the evening sky, listening to people chatter and children yell with delight.  Classic feel good music blares through the speakers as the sun goes down and parking spots fill in at the drive-in.”

I wrote this last Saturday as I waited for World War Z to start. My friends and I went to the drive-in for some food, ice cream, and two movies, WWZ and Man of Steel. I really enjoyed both of them.

World War Z was thrilling. It was pretty much Brad Pitt showing off, but the zombies were fun (by that I mean “scare the poop out of you and then laugh at yourself” fun).

I thought MOS was a successful remake even though it was a little long. I mean Henry Cavill has been my favorite person since I discovered The Count of Monte Cristo (2002). So, obviously, I kind of loved him.
I mean, come on.

I’m not the best critic in the world. I usually like movies the first time I see them and can only decide if they were truly good after my second or third viewing. Whatever. I was entertained by both films, and going to the drive-in is one of the greatest summer experiences. I cannot believe people when they say they haven’t been. Just go!
