Hold up. I’m blogging iPhone photos. What?

I love summer so much. As much as I wish that I had a real job, I do not mind having whole days off during the week. How else would I be able to go horseback riding with my cousins or go to the fair on a Friday afternoon?  Luckily, my schedule lined up perfectly the past few weeks so that I could go have adventures with my family.

Funny story: the horse owner thought “I’ve ridden before” meant “I am a proficient rider,” and then he gave me a 3 year old horse that was being trained.  I did well for the most part.  At one point, the thing decided that she was not going to go around a tree but through it.  My aunt proceeded to pee her pants while the horse pulled me through branches.  My luck.

Here are my beautiful siblings and cousins riding.

I think my new favorite summer event is the county fair.  Not only are there farm animals, there are plenty of places to blow my money on horribly awesome food and random craft vendors.  I’m not much of a people person, but I do like people watching.  I had a plethora of bizarre and unappealing people to scratch my head at.

My siblings loved the animal show.  There are so many 4H kids in this area, and they showed up to the fair with all of their goods.  There were about 3 barns filled with bunnies, guinea pigs, chickens, ducks, roosters, pigs, sheep, goats, and more.  Two other barns were separate from the smaller animal barns and held some beautiful cows.

It was so hot so most of the animals were laying under fans panting as hard as they could.  Poor fatties.
I am not a fair/carnival ride person.  They are too spin-ny  twirly, and all around nauseating. So my sister was disappointed for a bit because I couldn’t ride the more advanced rides with her.  Once she got over it though, she was all over the smaller rides.  I think the pirate ship obstacle course looks super fun, and the sibs must have agreed.  They walked it several times.

After blowing seven bucks on the quarter machine, my brother and I found a game that we liked and didn’t mind spending money on (both of us are quite cheap thrifty). “I GOT IT” was fun and we held out for just long enough.  He got the five in a row that he needed to pull in the prize ticket and proudly proclaimed “I got it!” I spent about $14 on games (we tried to win goldfish also) and ended up with a $15 Spongebob basketball. I call that one successful evening.

I’d also like to add that watching this ^ kid play the quarter machines was hysterical.  He had never seen them before and was so excited to put my quarters in. “JUST ONE MORE. SO CLOSE!” I wish I had recorded him playing both games. I did manage to record him on the goldfish game.  He was so determined!
