MY 2014
16.How did your relationship to your family evolve?
Well, I moved back home, and I am living with my family again. I share a room with my eight year old sister. I love having a busy house, but I know I would love having my own house as well. I want my family around; I do. I really don’t want to share a room any more. I want an office space and my own bed. So my relationship with my family is still good. I love them. I am grateful for them and to them. However, I wouldn’t mind if my proximity to them was a little further away.
17.What book or movie affected your life in a profound way?
This is a challenging question. Sadly, I don’t think I read or saw anything that really changed my life. I loved Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but they didn’t “affect my life in a profound way.” I can say that Interstellar left me in awe, and I thought about it for days after I saw it. Still, my life wasn’t affected in any real way.
18.What was your favorite compliment that you received this year?
I’m sure I received compliments this year, but I can’t remember a single favorite.I found out how important I am to a couple of different people, and that acknowledgment meant a lot to me.
19.What little things did you most enjoy during your day-to-day life?
Returning from work each day was something that was new for me. Getting at home around dinner was a little thing that was important and enjoyable.
20.What cool things did you create this year?
I was impressed with a couple of knitting projects I completed this year. I made a sweater for my sister and a tie for my brother.
21.What was your most common mental state this year (e.g. excited, curious, stressed)?
This year I was mostly level-headed and calm. I gave up a lot of stresses and just went with the flow. I have been healthier mentally and physically which was so nice.
22.Was there anything you did for the very first time in your life this year?
I planned a camping trip with my friends. I reserved the spot, squeezed everything into my tiny car, and stayed at the camp for five days. At first, it was very stressful for me, but it ended up being totally worth it.
23.What was your favorite moment spent with your friends?
Before I started work, me and my friends were going to trivia at a local restaurant each week. We placed third once, and we felt like we had won Survivor. It was a lot of fun and reminded me that we are all grown but for now, we are still together.
24.What major goal did you lay the foundations for?
I joined Planet Fitness so that in 2015 I can keep getting stronger and faster. I was looking through some photos from early 2014 and realized that I have made so much progress in the few months that I have had a membership.
25.Which worries turned out to be completely unnecessary?
Almost all of my worries are completely unnecessary. I honestly can’t even think of any major worries I had this year. I can tell you what my worries are: paying off my loans, buying a new car, and being able to move out of my parents’ house. I think these worries are necessary though. So… I didn’t answer this question, oh well.
