100th post: Liberated from my fear

MY HUNDREDTH POST!
I thought I’d do a little background about how my blog came to be.

At the end of the semester last spring, I decided I wanted a blog. I had this moment of inspiration while reading versions of the “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate” speech**.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.”

I love this quote so much. It is scary how true it is but how hard making it real can be. While trying to figure out who said this, I found this other version from a novel:
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” -Marianne Williamson
Liberated from our own fear
This stood out to me. I think because that is key to making things happen, being successful, but also being happy. As I thought more and more about fear, I discovered that fear drives so many of the problems I face in my life. Whether I choose to let the fear go or realize I shouldn’t be afraid, I will be happier.
So, being me, I made a playlist. Yes, when I’m in a good mood, I need a soundtrack. I can’t be the only one. Any-who, I collected some of my favorite songs, put them together, burned a CD, and titled it “Liberated From Our Own Fear.”  It’s sort of an odd playlist, but I obviously loved it at the time.

2. Satellite Heart: Anya Marina
3. Let’s Be Friends: Emily Osment
4. Kiss with a Fist: Florence + The Machine

After that, I logged onto Blogger and made a blog of the same title.  In my first post, I shared my playlist and my thoughts from that day.

Then, the unthinkable happened.  Blogger had a server issue.  My new blog with was lost forever! Because I made it on the same day they had issues, it was gone.  But, because I’m so flexible, I made a new one.
Take that, Blogger!

I had scribbled on some scrap cardboard the words Love More Enjoy More after finishing an art project once, and I kept it in my room at school.  I thought it was as good a blog name as any; I used it! I’m so happy I did!  The saying has become vital to my life.
And here I am a 100 posts later, still making posts for a couple followers, but loving doing it.
