Movie Review: Teen Spirit

Save yourself, don’t watch this movie.  The only reason I want to rant about it is because my eleven year old sister loved it.  She said “It is so good, but it is kind of inappropriate.”  Thanks for warning me lil sis!  I only watched it because I generally like Lindsay Shaw.  So I finished the movie, and it was the most predictable (except I liked who won the prom) and corny movie abc Family could produce.  Anyway, that isn’t the problem.  It is that no socially stable 15-19 year old is going to appreciate the moral of this movie nor the stereotypes it portrays.  The movie’s moral is directed at pre-teens, but the references to sex and the intimate encounters make it entirely inappropriate for pre-teens.  Now why would abc make a movie that no teenagers want to watch and no pre-teens should?  Either they have no clue what kids and young adults are like or, more likely, they do.  They knowingly direct gross behavior and inappropriate themes at 10-13 year old girls.  It is upsetting.
