My 2015 #31-40

My 2015 #31-40

31.What purchase turned out to be the best decision ever?
I have two for this. Number one: my 2006 Hyundai Tuscon. Great decision even though it’s still not paid for. Thank you student loans.

32.What one thing would you do differently and why?
I should have read more last year. Thank goodness I started reading again this year. I think I’ve already finished a book this year which makes me very happy.

33.What do you deserve a pat on the back for?
Deciding to leave my previous job.

34.What activities made you lose track of time?
Knitting, as usual, and binge watching Friends.

35.What did you think about more than anything else?
Paying my bills. It’s funny what moving out on your own does to you.

36.What topics did you most enjoy learning about?
I enjoy learning new things at work. I get to read about about interior design and aspects of construction and tiling. I really like that part of my job.

37.What new habits did you cultivate?
Well until I stopped working in Horseheads, I was going to the gym five days a week. So that ended when I changed jobs. I hope to get back into that routine soon. The year of making has fostered a sense of creativity every day. I’m grateful for that habit.

38.What advice would you give your early-2015 self if you could?
Become better friends with the people you work with. You will miss them when you switch jobs.

39.Did any parts of your self or your life do a complete 180 this year?
I think the big 180 was moving out and living on my own. I’m glad my parents instilled in me frugality and gave me the tools I needed to budget and watch my finances so that I can do what I do with so little.

40.What or who had the biggest positive impact on your life this year?
I think my old supervisor was really good at boosting my confidence and trusting me. Going into my new job, I had very little worries about my capabilities. I have had a lot of nice people encouraging me along the way, especially this past year. They’ve helped me figure out my strengths and work on my weaknesses.
